The Globe IDD campaign (2002)
IDD reunion
IDD trophy
We weren’t supposed to work on this project. I came to the office and found Argem brainstorming for the new IDD campaign. He had this idea for a guy who was calling up his OFW dad, thanking him for the pasalubong he got.
In the span of an afternoon we came up with four stories. Argem then worked til 3AM, drawing the storyboards.
Back then, our routine was, he’d leave the boards on my desk and I’d just pick them up before going to the meeting.
So, I got the meeting and realized that Argem only gave me three storyboards. He didn’t get draw the TROPHY story. I texted him and he replied, apologizing that he was too tired to draw the fourth board.
The meeting started. One team presented several boards and I presented my three boards and one script. As luck would have it, they chose the last two stories we presented.
TRIVIA: During the first year of Globe’s (G)-moments campaign, we use one guy to do all the VOs. He was the “Voice of Globe” who always capped off every story with, “Making great things possible.” It was Telly’s bright idea to get this talent. We said we need a voice didn’t sound like your typical announcer, but should sound distinct and give Globe that certain personality. So, who was the Voice? ANSWER: Jett Pangan.
