I think that’s the proper way to describe Grant Morrison’s NEW X-MEN .
It’s the old back to basics approach. Let’s see if Grant pulls it off.
Grant has cut down his team to just five people. Cyclops , Jean Grey, and the Beast —all from the original X-Men. Wolverine, the most popular X-Men. And Emma Frost aka the White Queen aka your telepathic S&M bitch. And of course, Prof. X .
So, in Grant’s first issue, he re-introduces the problem between humans and mutants and the human solution to the mutant problem, the Sentinels.
Something new, something old
We meet the main villains of this three-part play, Mr. Trask, a dentist who is related to Bolivar Trask, the man who invented the Sentinels. He is recruited by a the mysterious Ms. Nova , who looks like a female Prof. X, and seems to have the power to match the old professor.
Once again, Grant comes in and introduces some funky concepts. The “astral lounge” was such a cool way of briefing the team. I...
