I'm now an internet cafe, surrounded by people playing Counter Strike. It's either this or go surf at the office all by my lonesome.
And suddenly I dont' feel like writing about anything...
I had several things that I wanted to write these past couple pf days, but now that I'm seated in front of a computer... I just don't
I wanted to say something about the crazy stuff you find on the net these days. From Warren Ellis' msg board, I found a link that leads to one those auctions sites where an 18-year old girl is auctioning off her virginity.
(Oh dear, God... they just started to play WHO LET THE DOGS OUT!_Why... why oh why... )
Ahem... ummm... what was I saying...
Oh yeah, the crazy things you find on the net... anyway, the girl had a picture on the site and she looked pretty (if that really is her). Heck, who can even say the offer is for real.
Early last year, while reading Gaiman's SMOKE AND MIRRORS, I got this idea for a story about a guy who puts hs soul for auction on eBay. Mark said, someone already did that for real. I wonder who bought the guy's soul. It would have been interesting to see whihc demons (or angels) were trying to bid for that poor man's soul.
Talking about Gaiman, they just revamped his American Gods site, so it's now missing his blog entries about buying a Libretto. It's amazing how Gaiman can just talk about the simple act of buying a laptop and it make sound the best story ever told. Okay, so I doubt that everyone will agree on me on that, but Gaiman does have a way of telling stories. I was fortunate enough to be a 1994 San Diedgo Comic-Con where he was the quest of honor and got the chance to attend his two hour Q&A. Even when he was answering simple questions like, "What can we find in your closet?" He always had some interesting anecdote, that everything in his closet is black expect for this red jacket that was given to him and he still plans to use it for some special occassion.
Anyway, I just hope the bookstores get AMERICAN GODS within the month.

7:35am and I’m at the office.
I woke up around 6pm… yesterday!
My body-clock is completely screwed up.
That brewed coffee at Starbucks last night is definitely not helping.
I was at Starbucks, Katipunan last night with Brandie. I was brainstorming for my ad and he was brainstorming for his ad. We spent most of the time looking the pretty college girls.
There was this group in front of us. Had their laptops and mini-deskjet printers and Xeroxed reading materials. Makes you wonder what the heck they could be doing considering classes just started.
Back in my day (and I’m starting to sound like an old man at the age of 28) we didn’t have Starbucks or laptops. We had to do our study groups at McDo and subsist on their brewed coffee in styro-cups and soggy fries! We had to haul their entire PC to school and print out our reports on dot-matrix printers! Bah!
Geez, I’m too bitter for a 28-year old.
I txtd some office mates where I was and how it would be great to go back to college.
Nessa txtd me a story about how Fr. Roque Ferriols, who is an institution in the Philosophy department, finally bought a cellphone.
Rachel txtd me that we should go back to college and take up a second degree. Which is a pretty good idea, since I attempted the same trick of staying in school by taking my Masters and just died. After one semester, I quit and became a “freelance bum”.
I’m drinking another tall cup of Starbucks’ brewed coffee. I should really be working on this headline.
More later.

From Gaiman's Journal:
Here are our suggestions for the Neil Gaiman signing tour. Many of them are self-evident, but you never know...
Would he like anything special to eat or drink?
Clearly Canadian (one of the berry flavours) to drink; no real preferences as to snack food, but Neil still says nice things about the stores on the last tour who had sushi rolls there to nibble on.
Ha! From now on I will only drink berry flavored Clearly Canadian! Maybe that will get my creative juices going!
I still think some cosmic switch happened way back when. You see, Gaiman was born November 10. My birthday is November 9. Granted, that he's older than me, I'm sure that in some alternate universe, Gaiman's the one writing copy for cellphone ads and I'm the one going on a signing tour for his novel.
Dreaming...
1:14am... still stuck at the office.

Got my Gaiman-fix... read the first chapter of AMERICAN GODS.
It'll be made available in the United States in eights days.
I wonder how long it'll take them to ship it over here.
Mark was asking if there was a way we could get Powerbooks to drag Gaiman over here. Maybe Page One would have the money to put together an Asian tour.
Can somebody please bring the Dream King here?!!!
