wow... visitors!

Yo Jo!

Hey AnP!

POSTED IN THE ALAMAT MAILING LIST:

Filipino trains Matt Damon

Matt Damon's new film The Bourne Identity is being shown in the States at the moment and it features some Filipino Martial Arts. He trained for a month and half about an hour or more a day for the fight sequences. His trainer is a Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee's art) and Kali (Filipino edged weapons) specialist named Jonathan Eusebio. Jonathan did a great job preparing Damon, he moves pretty good in the film . The film is pretty good as a whole as well. --Rafael--

And in other news...

Filipino draws Superboy

SMALLVILLE: THE COMIC : 64-page one-shot chock-full of new stories and information straight from the continuity of the TV show! The drama and excitement begin when Smallville writer/supervising producer Mark Verheiden (Fighting American) pens the lead story “The Beast,” featuring art by Roy Allan Martinez .

Bitter Brew
Ah, well, it was just a matter of time and a question of what will piss off people that will make them decide to set-up their own little gig.
I'm talking about the person who set-up a new message board for ad agency creatives because they didn't like the way I deleted certain messages and message threads and how I gagged some people because they we're either too rude or irritating.

The new cafe will supposedly be uncensored and, I have to admit, the moderator did come up with a more organized selection of threads.

The moderator said, that in her cafe, people can say anything they want about anybody, any ad, any agency, in any manner they want... upholding freedom of speech and all that.

Well, I guess my mother didn't bring me up that way. I just hate it when people quarrel. I'm all for a heathly debate but I just don't have the stomach for mud-slinging.

It's only a matter of time before someone in the other cafe gets pissed because of someone or some thread and will decide to open up his/her own message board.

I keep remembering that story about how the Filipino's in New York just couldn't agree on how to celebrate the Philippines 100th Independence Day, so they split-up into two groups and had separate celebrations. Stupid.

Well, as a great man once again, you can't please all the people all the time.

I just wonder how long cc: Cafe Creatives will last. It has left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths, especially mine. I think my 15 minutes are just about up. But let's see how things go in the next couple of months. If people stop going to the cafe, then it isn't really that hard to press the DELETE button on all of this.

It's 1am.
Time to log-off.

Muppet Murder Show
Jim Henson Production has commissioned Neil Gaiman to write something that will be directed by Dave McKean.

Hmmm... I wonder if it involves that three-way with Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo's nose. :)

babbling fangirl :)
Well, she's not really a fangirl but she did sign my guestbook!
Hello Diane!

new stuff to read
1. IndieFilipino is now online. Check it out!
Hmmm... as Gerry suggested, they should have something about indie Pinoy komix.

2. Pagedown, the 72dpi downloadable magazine is also now available.

Still looking for heroes...
Mark said: "We should realize that there is a human cost to having our people become migrant workers, Wired Magazine or not. We are not `the forerunner of tomorrow's distributed economy` because we want to, but because we don't have a choice."

Be that as it may (i've always wanted to use that phrase), our OFWs not having a choice but to work abroad so that they can feed their families is the main reason they are hailed as heroes. If they travelled abroad just for the heck of it, because they wanted to walk the earth, then they are adventurers and not heroes. And at the end of each day, they earn a couple of more dollars to send home. And that keeps families alive. And that keeps the kids in school. And they hope to save enough and come home and never leave again.
But for now, their story still ends with TO BE CONTINUED.
