A Daunting Task
Many, many years ago (actually I'm not sure when this all happened, but I'm sure it was very long time ago), Gerry Alanguilan was riding a bus and he was on his way home to San Pablo. It was on that bus ride when he wondered, "Who would win: Superman or God?" (Well, I'm not sure if those were his exact thoughts, but it eventually got boiled to that sort of Hollywood-pitch.)
So, he called up (or did he write to) David Hontiveros and pitched to him the idea of a book: what can a "superman" do during the end times? Can the world's most powerful man be strong enough to stop the hand of God?
David got excited and run away with the idea. He ran and ran and ran.
Gerry thought David would come back with a 40-page script.
Nope. No way. Not Dave.
David came back from Mt. Sanai (actually, he just lives in Merville) and David came down with 200-page script for the graphic novel "Superman vs. God" (not the actual title).
Obviously, we never got to finish this project. We tried to get it done with Kajo Baldisimo doing the art chores, but even he surrendered to the 200-page beast after a couple of pages. (The pages you see here are the only ones that ever got drawn.)
But Dave just had to scratch that "Superman"-itch of his, so he ended up writing another comic book about a guy with a cape and that lasted a grand total of three issues (even though he already wrote more that 25 issues of it). That still wasn't enough for Dave, so he wrote a novel about "a guy with a cape" and that might have a better chance to taking flight.
Goes to show that sometimes, some ideas don't always work out in it's original form.
So, anyone want to take a crack at a 200-page graphic novel? :-)
(And before anyone sends in their portfolio, I was just kidding. We, unfortunately and as usual, don't have the funds to afford an artist who will devote his nights and days to this project. Maybe next time.)

thanks, betsy
ang galing talaga ni ka-jo, naalala ko pa nung gingawa niya ang mga pages na to. drooling talaga ako non!
why not divide the story into chapters (maybe 10-15 pages), then have multiple artist. mas madaling makakakuha ng volunteers pag konting pages lang per artist.

Hey NER! :)
Funny you should mention that idea. Jonas and Reno sugested the same thing. Told them I'll take a look at the script again and see if we can cut it up into chapters. :)
