There she stood, facing the cement column, cellphone in one hand, a white handerkerchief in the other. She used the white patch of cloth to cover her mouth as she spoke into the phone and also used it to dry her tears.

I was rushing to work but I wondered what it was all about.

Some piece of news that couldn't wait.
Some words that just needed to be said.
Some tears that just needed to be shed.
