Finally got my copy of OCHLORAT which was illustrated by Gerry. Comic Quest supposedly only got six copies. So, since I got one copy and another copy is reserved for Gerry, that leave four copies for you guys to fight over.
OCHLOCRAT was a fun read. The lead character, the Ochlocrat, reminded me of Spider Jerusalem, but this time he’s armed with hovering cameras and puts criminals on trials on TV and the internet. He presents the evidence to everyone watching and people vote online on what the verdict should be. In between all of that, he’s promotes certain products like life insurance and condoms.
The art by Gerry was great! Unfortunately, I think Gerry swore off from illustrating anything like this every again. Just take a look at all the detail in the background. Even the little hover-cams are super-detailed. So, Gerry what’s next?
Try and get the last four copies of OCHLOCRAT from Comic Quest, Megamall, it’s worth it.
I also got THE ULTIMATES. And that made me happy. Mark Millar continues to do great work in this playground called the Ultimate Marvel Universe. The first issue focuses on Captain America’s last mission during World War II. The first couple of pages reminded me of “Band of Brothers”. Wonderful, wide-screen action by Bryan Hitch. If you’re looking for something new to collect, then get THE ULTIMATES.
I flipped through the pages of DK2 #2 and decided to not buy it anymore after seeing the first page. I think Frank Miller has completely lost it. I don’t know what he’s trying to do. Talk about a project that just didn’t live up to it’s hype. Sorry Frank, maybe your JESUS project will be better.
Well, that’s what I got this week. What did you guys get?
