Roche, one of our A.E.'s at the office, has been reading my blog (Hi Roche!) and says she skips the parts where I talked about comic books because she's not really into that. She even asked me is "Gaiman" is one of the X-Men, pronouncing Neil's name as "Gay-Man".
Hmmm... what kind of comic book would that be?
Talking about the X-MEN, (sorry, Roche), I finally got the latest issue of NEW X-MEN. I'm afraid it didn't really blow me away. It was okay. Fun. Nice. But it didn't blow me away. Not in the same away I'd be blown away by certain issues of THE AUTHORITY. Anyway, at least the next issue comes out next week. It's Marvel's way of making up for its lateness. After that a new artist comes and I'm not really to happy about that. Goes to show that even big shot companies like Marvel can't get their artists to work any faster...
My cab gets here in 10mintues...
Listening to the E-heads CarbonStereoxide...
Brandie said that MASKARA could be the theme-song/part of the soundtrack of a Pinoy superhero movie/TV series... the video delved more into the supernatural...
I like tracks 3, 13, and 17... their english songs... which the radio stations aren't playing because (and I'm guess here) the record company wants to satisfy the E-heads' fans. I like that pop-jazz sound of PLAYGROUND (track 13)... don't you just hate it when critics combine things to try and describe something...
"well it's very rock yet pop"...
"it's Disney meets anime"...
"it's Sandman meets Superman"...
Actually I do that, trying to find the right soundbite, to be able to convey something a few words, in less than two seconds... I usually end up doing such stupid sound bites when I'm Jessica's show and I'm trying to describe the new comic book out there...
"Ummm... people who like spandex and film noir will definitely love this book..." and so on and so forth...
Tracks 3 (HOW FAR WILL YOU GO) and 17 (OUTSIDE) are typical melacholy E-heads songs... the type you'd play when you're all alone and it's raining... well, at least I do that... it's what I'd be playing on my car stereo is only my tape player isn't busted. It's been busted for two years.
Going home now...
Later...
