Crap! I can’t believe I got that WIZARD! After flipping through the magazine and realized, 60 seconds later, that I’ve read everything in that issue on the net, I just wanted to kick myself. Or at least go back to Page One and ask for a refund (and try to come up with an excuse why they should give me a refund). The cover story, which was all about all about the X-MEN’s new costumes, was completely useless for me since I’ve already bought the issue which shows their new costumes. I was hoping that this issue also contains the rejected Alex Ross designs, which I read about on the net. Turns out those designs are found in the X-MEN WIZARD special (which I’m not going to buy!) I was also hoping that this issue of WIZARD would contain the 22-page preview of the new ELEKTRA series . What I got was a preview of the new GHOST RIDER series by Devin Grayson. Art looks like Todd McFarlane during the early 90s. I don’t go for it. And the TOMB RAIDER poster didn’t come for free with th...
coughs clears throat stands up, making the legs of the wooden chair drag on the floor Hi, I'm Budjette. I'm a drooling fanboy. I just bought the latest issue of WIZARD because... ummm... because Wolverine's on the cover!!! breaks down and starts to sob like a little girl who got her dolly taken away from her It's been almost a year since I boight my last issue of WIZARD. I stopped getting it bcause I could everything I need about comics from the web... and got it for free! But I just had to get this issue because Wolverine was on the cover and the blurb said that I'd get to see the new costumes of the X-MEN and that there's a free Marvel comic book inside and a Tomb Raider posters and... starts to sob again I haven't opened it yet. I'm so afraid. So, afraid that I'll be so happy I got this issue. I need help. I need help. Oh thank God the new comic books arrive tomorrow. Everything will be all right to...
Street sign on Ayala Avenue: STEEL RAILS 50MTS. AHEAD MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE. PLEASE AVOID. It "may" cause damage. They're not sure?! You see, putting up those steel rails is the only way the city of Makati can enforce the buslane. So, I guess drivers aren't really used to having any steel rails in their way and have plowed through the said rails. Given enough time, some bus will ram straight into the rails and people will start picking off the steel rails to sell them to the bote dyaryo guy. Heck, manholes have been stolen and sold to the junkyard! A more ridiculous senario would be that the city of Makati would later on realize that they don't need those steel rails there and would have them removed, once again using up tax payers money. Then, some time later, some accident would happen or someone woud complain and they'd reason out that they'd have to put the rails back on. Geez...
Marvel announced that they are releasing a 6-issue mini-series that will detail, finally, the origin of Wolverine . Back in high school, I was a big Wolverine fan. In fact, I liked him so much that I didn’t speak to a friend of mine for a whole day because he said Superman could kick Wolverine’s ass in nano-second. My friend even came up with a little story, where Wolverine makes the mistake of bullying mild, mannered reporter Clark Kent. Wolverine pops his claws and slashes at Clark, ruining his suit and tie… revealing the S on his chest. Superman then grabs Wolverine, flies straight up into outer space, heads for the sun, goes through the sun, and comes out the other side, just holding Wolverine’s adamantium skeleton. And it was because of that story that I didn’t talk to him for a whole day. (Hey, I was kid back then!) Anyway, as years went by, Wolverine’s mysterious past and bad attitude routine just got stale for me. The mini-series ORIGINS is supposed to answer the ques...
G’s MEN. I think that’s the proper way to describe Grant Morrison’s NEW X-MEN . It’s the old back to basics approach. Let’s see if Grant pulls it off. Grant has cut down his team to just five people. Cyclops , Jean Grey, and the Beast —all from the original X-Men. Wolverine, the most popular X-Men. And Emma Frost aka the White Queen aka your telepathic S&M bitch. And of course, Prof. X . So, in Grant’s first issue, he re-introduces the problem between humans and mutants and the human solution to the mutant problem, the Sentinels. Something new, something old We meet the main villains of this three-part play, Mr. Trask, a dentist who is related to Bolivar Trask, the man who invented the Sentinels. He is recruited by a the mysterious Ms. Nova , who looks like a female Prof. X, and seems to have the power to match the old professor. Once again, Grant comes in and introduces some funky concepts. The “astral lounge” was such a cool way of briefing the team. I...
Just got to work. Just got my Gaiman-fix . Ahhhhhhh!!! Check out the excerpt from "American Gods" at Gaiman's journal. Oh yeahhhh!!! Like sniffing Dream's sand. Got my Morrison-fix last night when I finally got my copy of NEW X-MEN. Will talk about that later. Ohhh... yeah... everything's so colorful!!!
"I need a holiday from myself. I need some time away from being me. I'm worried about my health. I seem to be bad company." --lyrics from a song, i forget the name of the band, just heard on the radio on my way back to work, it's 11:24pm Yes, I'm at the office. The wallpaper right now is the cover of THE NEW X-MEN #114 . They really look funky and I don't know how the fanboys will like like, but this so-called "new" X-Men definitely looks good to me! Anyway, I went all the way to Megamall, hoping to get my copy of Grant Morrison's first issue. Just my luck... the shipment got delayed... will arrive tomorrow. I've seen the preview and read the reviews and I'm just dying to read that damned book! I hate it when I undergo comic book withdrawal. I am such a comic book junkie! I was hoping that getting that book would just make my day. Because it's been such a loooooong day. Running around, driving here and t...
The title of my blog was part of name study I did for my wonderful clients. They needed a name for a new “lifestyle cellphone/electronics store”. It was one of names I just tossed in. They eventually went for a name that they came up with. It’s now called the Hub. Considering how the store looks I guess Babbling Point isn’t very appropriate. Anyway, this is my space to babble. I don’t usually babble. I rant. I rave. Rarely do I babble. It’s just that the Ranting Point just doesn’t sound as interesting. Besides, when I rant it means I’ve reached my boiling point, so I guess Babbling Point still works. Anyway, on with the show…
It's 12:40am on the computer clock. It's 12:37am on my cellphone clock. And my watch says it's already 12:43am. And I'm sitll at the office. I should start heading home. I was hoping to get to write somethings but ended up trying to start up my own blog. I don't even know if this will work. Well, if you're reading this then I guess I did something right.
